KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- It’s known simply as the “Third Saturday in October” around the college football world and has produced some epic games, memorable plays and legendary players.
But for only the second time since 1999, it will produce a top-10 matchup this Saturday at Neyland Stadium when No. 1 Alabama and No. 9 Tennessee renew an annual rivalry that has had one heck of a ride.
And depending on what happens the rest of the way, it could be the first of two meetings this season. There’s a decent chance they could see each other again in the SEC championship game.
