BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama senior linebacker Reggie Ragland was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The conference award is Ragland’s first of his career.
The senior leader captained an Alabama defense that limited Arkansas to just 220 yards and 14 points in a 27-14 win. The 220 yards of offense was more than 250 yards below the Razorbacks’ season average of 476 entering the game.
For the fifth time this season, Ragland led the team in tackles with eight total, including seven solo stops.
