In a record week for Alabama football that saw 17 players sign NFL contracts, including an SEC- and school-record dozen draftees, nevertheless several Alabama players did not get quite as good of news as they had anticipated either entering the season or even the weekend.
Some lower-than-expected results were simply the result of deep classes at some positions (corner, running back). Others were the result of diminished production or injury concerns (Bo Scarbrough, Shaun Dion Hamilton). Some players slid a bit because of lackluster combine efforts (Calvin Ridley).
