For someone who once had nothing, Josh Jacobs has quickly become one of the National Football League’s most fascinating rookies. The 5-foot-10, 220-pounder fits the mold of the modern-day running back and carries a few intangibles that the Raiders truly love.
After a strong career at the Alabama, Oakland selected Jacobs with the No. 24 overall pick of this year’s NFL Draft. Jon Gruden got his guy to run the ball and thus far, Jacobs has made silver and black look entertaining. Despite its 3-4 record, the Oklahoma native has totaled 620 yards rushing with four touchdowns on 124 carries.
