Offensive tackle Charles Baldwin, one of the most coveted junior college linemen in the country, committed to Alabama on Friday. Baldwin, of ASA Community College in Brooklyn, N.Y., has spent time visiting Tuscaloosa the past few days. He took an unofficial visit in April. Baldwin (6-6, 312) will be a member of the 2016 signing class and is expected to enroll this January.
Late Friday night, quarterback Jalen Hurts of Channelview, Texas, confirmed his commitment to Alabama. Hurts (6-2, 208) is pass-first quarterback, but certainly has been elusive and productive carrying the ball, too. Last season he passed for 2,552 yards and 21 touchdowns while rushing for 950 yards and 19 touchdowns.
