PODCAST: Alabama’s Shane Lee to add speed for sophomore year at linebacker

If one looks solely at statistics, Shane Lee had an exceptional freshman season.

The four-star from Maryland finished second on Alabama’s roster for total tackles (86) in 2019 and recorded 6.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three quarterback hurries, two forced fumble and one interception through 13 games. Lee assisted the Crimson Tide to its twelfth 10-win season of the Nick Saban and helped its defense rank in the top-20 nationally for scoring and total defense.

Listed at 6-feet and 246 pounds, speed is the element needed for his game.

He had moments last year where he struggled with containing athletic quarterbacks and avoiding oncoming offensive linemen on different plays.
