There is new and old at Sewell-Thomas Stadium as Alabama baseball works during its fall practice. There are veterans, like center fielder Georgie Salem and right-handed pitcher Geoffrey Bramblett. There are newcomers, like freshman infielder Cobie Vance and junior-college catcher Tanner DeVinny.
The Crimson Tide coaches are trying to balance the needs of both players in practice. Enough of a core is back to keep things familiar, but there are also opportunities across the board for the new additions.
“We really tried to get our fundamentals in and that was the first thing we wanted to get done, but also I would like to see guys start to separate themselves a little bit,” head coach Mitch Gaspard said.
