Former Alabama quarterback Phillip Sims is preparing for his first season as a high school football coach.
Since Sims played for Alabama in 2011, his football journey has taken him to Virginia and Winston-Salem State in college and the Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and Saskatchewan Roughriders in the pros.
Now Sims is the head football coach at John Marshall High School in Richmond, Virginia. He took the job with the Justices in April. John Marshall has had four straight losing seasons and went 1-9 in 2016.
"They deserve a chance to be winners," Sims said when he became the JMHS coach.
