It was just time.
That's what Phil Savage said Thursday, a day after the Reese's Senior Bowl announced, per a press release, that the game and its executive director were "mutually parting ways" after six years.
Savage joined me and Lee Shirvanian on "The Opening Kickoff" on WNSP-FM 105.5 for his weekly segment and talked about the career move.
"I felt like the time was right to make a move like this," Savage said. "I think the Senior Bowl is in excellent shape. It's in good hands. I can't say enough about the people I work with over these last six years.
