Quarterback Peyton Manning's retirement from the NFL has put him on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame. The football shrine couldn't consider Manning for induction while he remained a professional because of eligibility rules. With his retirement in February, Manning could be included on the ballot for the College Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2017, which was released on Wednesday.
The ballot includes 10 former SEC players. Among the nominees are running back Bobby Humphrey and defensive end E.J. Junior of Alabama and defensive back Buddy McClinton of Auburn.
