Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables joined the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday morning to discuss the Alabama-Oklahoma game this weekend. He had some positive things to say in regard to two Alabama linebackers and the way that they have performed this season.
“On defense, all three levels they’re playing at an elite level. Their linebackers, Jihaad Campbell and Deontae Lawson, they’re playing as well as any linebacker in the country right now.”
Venables has coached his share of good defenses over the years. He was the defensive coordinator at Clemson from 2012-2021. He helped produce first-round picks like Dexter Lawrence, AJ Terrell, and Christian Wilkins.
