University of Alabama tight end O.J. Howard can describe his first catch of the season in detail.
“The first one was coming underneath on a mesh route,” he said. “It was an underneath route, I made a play after a guy basically set a pick for me.”
The catch against Wisconsin last Saturday was only the 32nd of Howard’s career at Alabama, now in its third season, despite physical gifts that made the former five-star
recruit the top-ranked tight end in his high school class. In 2014, he caught all of 17 passes.
