The Northwestern women's golf team expanded their lead to six strokes after the second round of the NCAA Shoal Creek regional on Friday.
Windy conditions and a long golf course once again led to tough scoring conditions, with Northwestern shooting 296-294—590, followed by Florida State at second (299-297—596).
Florida State’s Matilda Castren (74-71) and Northwestern’s Kacie Komoto (72-73) are tied for the lead individually on 1-over 145.
Northwestern also has Sarah Cho (75-72–147, 5th) and Janet Mao (74-74–148, tied-6th) in the top six.
“The girls kept grinding all day again,” Emily Fletcher, head coach of Northwestern, said.
