When the Tide lost at home to Ole Miss earlier this season, there were a flurry of “the dynasty has ended” stories. Two weeks later, the Tide routed Georgia. Two weeks after that was a visit to Texas A&M, whose offense supposedly was going to cause all sorts of problems. The Tide routed the Aggies, too. Then came the matchup with LSU, whose running game and stout defense were going to be a problem. Yep, another Tide rout.
In every sport, there is a general sense of disdain — and, yes, even hate — for consistent winners.
