In a shocking, but not-so-shocking announcement, it was revealed that Alabama head coach, Nick Saban had been voted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, headlining a prestigious group of prominent figures representing the state of Louisiana.
A completely humbled Saban stated, “I’m thrilled and honored. It is a privilege to be joining so many great people in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, especially because of the great relationships we built there. I’m very, very flattered by this.”
Saban, prior to Alabama, coached the LSU Tigers from 2000-2004. During his five seasons in Baton Rouge, he compiled a 48-16 record, including winning the 2003 BCS Championship over the Oklahoma Sooners.
