Nick Saban explains how 5-star LB Ale Kaho got to Alabama from Washington

There was a trickle of information with what seemed like an inevitable outcome.

First, Washington announced star freshman linebacker Ale Kaho asked for a release from his scholarship Aug. 2, according to multiple reports. By Monday, he was given an unconditional release from his National Letter of Intent. Then on Wednesday, reports indicated he was headed east to Alabama.

Visual confirmation came Saturday afternoon when Kaho debuted in a crimson jersey warming up with the Alabama middle linebackers before the scrimmage. He didn't participate much beyond the early drills since he still needs to go through the NCAA's acclimation protocol.
