Tua Tagovailoa continues to make progress in his recovery from a broken bone near his index finger, according to Alabama coach Nick Saban said.
The rising sophomore quarterback was involved in a portion of practice Tuesday and Saban didn't rule out the possibility that Tagovailoa could participate in the team's first scrimmage of the year on Saturday.
Saban said Tagovailoa was on a "pitch count" in the team's most recent practice, but that he did throw during the team's sixth workout of the spring.
"We didn't really do a lot with him," Saban said. "But he was able to do a lot of things in practice today.
