NFL PA warns Alabama players about new NIL deal

The NFL Players Association is warning college football players about the risk of signing with Pathway Sports and Entertainment.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported multiple college football players, including some of the Crimson Tide players have signed with the company to negotiate deals for their representations in video games. The NFL PA sent out a notice to college football agents and contract advisors in response to the signing to explain the risk.

“As you know, our CBA requires every NFL player to sign the standard NFL Player contract,” the notice said. “And that Player Contract, in turn, requires each NFL player to assign his group NIL rights on an exclusive basis to the NFLPA and its licensing affiliates for use in the group licensing program that supports the Union and its member.
