NFL Draft expert Daniel Jeremiah raves about Patrick Surtain II’s coverage skills and size

One player who is hoping to have a college football season, so he can cement himself as one of the nation’s top cornerbacks entering the 2021 NFL Draft, is Patrick Surtain II.

The defensive back at the University of Alabama will enter his “money year” this fall, in terms of wanting to craft a first-round draft stock. Hailing from Plantation, Fla., the former five-star garnered much attention in the 2018 recruiting cycle as he drew many comparisons to former All-America safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. He has the physical build to be a shutdown defender (6’2”/203 pounds), but Surtain also has the professional pedigree of his father.
