The first of the four Alabama players selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft on Thursday night -- defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick -- can expect to sign a four-year contract worth about $16.5 million with the Miami Dolphins, with $10 million of that coming as a signing bonus.
Players drafted in the first round receive four-year contracts that carry a team option for a fifth season.
Their salaries are based on the NFL's salary cap of $177.2 million and the rookie compensation pool for 2018 in a formula spelled out in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the league and its players association.
