Nine players with Alabama football roots earned invitations to the Pro Bowl this season, with Tampa Bay Buccaneers middle linebacker Kwon Alexander and Tennessee Titans special-teamer Brynden Trawick set to make their first appearances in the NFL’s annual all-star game. On the other end of the invitation list, Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers was chosen for his seventh Pro Bowl.
Rivers won’t be at Sunday’s game, though. He’s one of the three state players who withdrew with injury concerns. Also missing will be Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones and New York Giants strong safety Landon Collins.
