The New York Jets placed defensive lineman Ed Stinson on waivers on Tuesday, with the former Alabama standout's NFL career apparently derailed by another injury.
Stinson left the Jets' game against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday with what was reported as a shoulder injury. On Monday, he missed practice with what was described as a neck injury.
With the Jets facing a Thursday night game against the Buffalo Bills, New York signed defensive end Xavier Cooper on Tuesday and released Stinson. Cooper played five games earlier this season with the San Francisco 49ers after spending the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the Cleveland Browns.
