Enough with Starkvegas. It’s done, it’s over, it never was.
I’ve heard more needless bluster of Starkville being called Starkvegas over the last week to fertilize the entire state of Mississippi. Have you been to Mississippi? Let’s just say that it would require quite a bit of manure.
The ‘ville to Vegas name change game is overwrought and tired. Besides, it never was clever. Thirty years ago I first heard Clarksville, TN called Clarksvegas and it kinda had some appeal to me. It’s a military town near the Kentucky border and there are real-life casinos in the vicinity.
