The ‘Wolf’ position for Alabama at linebacker is coming off the leash.
A season-ending injury to Que Robinson allows Kane Wommack and Christian Robinson to unveil the depth Alabama has.
Qua Russaw has gotten a lot of playing time as a redshirt freshman, but Yhonzae Pierre and two true freshmen get a chance Saturday versus Mercer to show the defensive coaching staff their potential. Pierre, a redshirt freshman, is the immediate backup to Russaw at the position. The 6-foot-3, 239-pounder is ready to step up as a product from Eufala (Ala.) High School.
Kalen DeBoer said in Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference that he is ‘extremely excited’ about Pierre.
