Marisa Runyon brought the thunder and the University of Alabama softball team dodged the lightning.
Runyon, a sophomore third baseman, hit two home runs and drove in seven runs to lead the fifth-ranked Crimson Tide to a resounding 10-3 victory over No. 11 Tennessee on Saturday in front of a capacity crowd of 3,940 at Rhoads Stadium.
The victory gave UA a series win, with Alabama taking two out of three to improve to 38-11 overall, 14-7 in the SEC. Tennessee fell to 36-13, 12-9 in league play.
