Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus has gone to Haiti, following up on a recent donation to the Hope for Haiti charity with a first-hand look at conditions in the country.
The island nation has been reeling since an earthquake in 2010 killed thousands of people and left thousands of more homeless. Hurricane Matthew struck Haiti in October, adding to the nation's misery.
After making a $25,000 donation to Hope for Haiti, Dareus is visiting schools, orphanages and a hospital in the country.
"I'm happy that I'm able to partner with Hope for Haiti, which is giving me the opportunity to meet and understand the people who are benefiting from my support," Dareus said.
