4-Star defensive back and Alabama commit, Malachi Moore, had to expand his role in Hewitt-Trussville’s defense this season and he delivered in the Huskies’ season opener.
Moore made the switch to safety this season after playing cornerback for most of his career. The 4-Star recruit caught an interception and recovered a muffed punt in Hewitt-Trussville’s 40-33 win over Pinson Valley. Moore’s interception prevented a Pinson Valley Touchdown and his recovered muffed punt put the Huskies in position to take a lead late in the game.
The 2020 recruit said he has embraced playing the safety position because it gives him a chance to get a deeper meaning of the game.
