Alabama gets better bang for its buck than at least two other Southeastern Conference schools.
Alabama ranks third in the SEC -- and nationally -- in total assistant coach pay behind LSU and in-state rival Auburn, according to USA Today's salary database. LSU, with coordinators Kevin Steele and Cam Cameron making a combined $2.52 million, has the nation's highest salary pool for assistants for a fourth consecutive year at $5,471,236.
Auburn ranked second in 2015 at $5,341,900 though it has already lost two of its pricey assistant coaches this offseason. Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp, who was the nation's highest-paid assistant at $1.
