Tyler Shelvin has been committed to LSU for more than a year, but it hasn't stopped Alabama from recruiting the five-star defensive tackle.
The 6-foot-2, 329-pound Shelvin is the top prospect in Louisiana and the No. 13 prospect nationally, per the 247Sports composite. He has made multiple trips to Tuscaloosa in the past year.
"I love the atmosphere," Shelvin said Sunday at the New Orleans Opening Regional. "I love (defensive line) Coach (Bo) Davis, love (running backs) Coach (Burton) Burns, love Coach (Nick) Saban. It's awesome up there. I've toured the campus and watched the football team.
