Kobie Eubanks, a four-star shooting guard who was signed by the University of Alabama men’s basketball program in April, did not meet NCAA academic initial eligibility requirements and will not enroll at UA for the 2015-16 academic year.
“We are disappointed for Kobie and his family,” Alabama head coach Avery Johnson said in a statement released by UA on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, Kobie wasn’t cleared by the NCAA and we couldn’t get him admitted to the University of Alabama. He has a bright future and we wish him well.”
Johnson said in the release that he would have no further comment on the matter.
