Kirk Herbstreit loves the storylines when it comes to next Monday's College Football Playoff national championship between No. 3 Georgia and No. 4 Alabama.
Herbstreit gave his first impressions of the national title game late Monday night after Alabama defeated No. 1 Clemson 24-6 in the Sugar Bowl, and Georgia defeated Oklahoma 54-48 in the Rose Bowl in double overtime.
It is SEC vs. SEC.
It is Nick Saban vs. Kirby Smart
And Herbstreit loves it.
"I think it is incredible to see Kirby Smart in just his second year," he said. "They took the blue print from Tuscaloosa to Athens and his alma mater.
