Kansas City Chiefs load up on receivers with Alabama roots

The Kansas City Chiefs announced on Tuesday the signing of Louisville's Jamari Staples, making the former Clay Central standout the third wide receiver with Alabama football roots signed by the NFL team since the end of the NFL Draft.

Shortly after the draft, the Chiefs signed Alabama's Gehrig Dieter and Auburn's Tony Stevens.

The three wide receivers were among the 69 players who participated in Kansas City's rookie minicamp Saturday through Monday. The roster for the camp included 46 players who attended on a tryout basis.
