Jordan Howard surpasses Bobby Humphrey's mark for NFL rushing yards by ex-Alabama prep player

Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard broke the record for the most NFL rushing yards in a season by a former Alabama high school player on a 4-yard run against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

Howard broke the record of 1,202 rushing yards, which Bobby Humphrey of Glenn High School gained for the Denver Broncos during the 1990 NFL season.

A former Gardendale High School star, Howard entered Sunday's game with 1,178 rushing yards in his rookie season. His fifth carry against the Vikings gave him 26 yards on five rushing attempts on Sunday and lifted him past Humphrey's mark.
