Jonathan Allen appreciates football more after injury

Washington Redskins defensive end Jonathan Allen missed 11 games last season because of a foot injury -- and that wasn't all he missed. He missed football.

"It made me really appreciate football, honestly," Allen told the Washington Post. "So now I love practice. Not saying I didn't last year, but you just appreciate it more when you have it taken away from you."

Allen got to practice throughout Washington's offseason program, although the Redskins made him take it easy initially, and he's declared himself "100 percent fine."

"Being back here, I can't tell you how good it was just to run for the first time, to just be out there with my team and just be in the huddle," Allen said as Washington's offseason program wound down last month.
