BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alabama sophomore punter JK Scott was named the Southeastern Conference Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance against Tennessee, the league office announced on Monday.
The second-year punter put together four punts for 199 total yards in the Crimson Tide’s 19-14 victory over Tennessee Saturday evening. He averaged 49.8 yards, but more importantly netted 44.0 yards on those four kicks. Scott had two punts travel over 55 yards, and twice pinned the ball inside the Volunteers 10-yard line to help flip the field for the Tide.
He has continued to improve each week and is averaging 46.
