Alabama football will not have to worry about its starting quarterback opting out for the ReliaQuest Bowl.
Jalen Milroe, a redshirt junior, announced his plans to the media in Thursday’s availability for players.
He will suit up to play against Michigan in the bowl matchup on Dec. 31 in Tampa, Fla. Milroe is coming off winning the William V. Campbell Trophy, which goes to the best player in college football that the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance. He has 35 total touchdowns to 10 interceptions through 12 regular season games.
“My thought process right now is finish this game out and get Michigan, so just being my absolute best I can be for my teammates, coaches,” Milroe said.
