By the fourth quarter of Alabama's A-Day spring game Saturday, a number of fans had left Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Before they even arrived, their interest had already been muted when Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban announced that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa would not play in this glorified scrimmage.
But then the game itself turned out to be relatively mundane. It was a far cry from A-Day 2017, when both the Crimson and White teams produced 730 yards of offense.
This was more of a defensive struggle.
In the end, Crimson defeated White, 24-12.

With Tagovailoa sidelined Saturday as the fractured bone in his left hand continued to heal, the spotlight tracked Jalen Hurts' every move.
