The injury-filled second NFL season of Indianapolis center Ryan Kelly officially came to an end when the Colts put the former Alabama All-American on injured reserve on Monday.
Kelly hadn't played since suffering a concussion in the first half of the Colts' 20-16 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 26.
He'd missed the three games since and now will miss the two games remaining on Indianapolis' schedule.
Kelly had participated in practice the past two weeks, but the Colts' hope of having their center cleared by an independent neurologist, as required by the NFL's concussion protocol to return to the playing field, hadn't happened.
