STARKVILLE, Miss. u2015 It wasn't going well early.
Alabama's offense had arguably its least effective first quarter Saturday against Mississippi State. The 14 plays netted just 34 yards, 13 of which belonged to Heisman candidate Derrick Henry.
A few factors contributed to the troubles. And their solutions sent Alabama to the 31-6 win and Henry's rushing total past 200 yards for the third time in four games. No Alabama running back ever had more than two games of 200-plus in a single season. The stat line had Henry with 204 yards on 22 carries, the fewest since battling tonsillitis before the Sept.
