A month ago, Henry was a Heisman afterthought as LSU’s Leonard Fournette was galloping through opposing defenses at a 200-yards-per-game clip. With the Crimson Tide rising and LSU mired in a two-game losing streak, Fournette no longer is the Heisman frontrunner and now almost seems to be on the periphery of the race. Henry’s 204-yard performance against Mississippi State this past Saturday was his third 200-yard outing of the season, and he now is at or near the top of the Heisman watch lists.
Henry’s recent accomplishments have come with Alabama surging at the right time in the race for an SEC title, and it’s a prime example of why Nick Saban’s program is so successful.
