A night after its expected domination of the first round didn’t materialize, Alabama did dominate the second round of the NFL draft Friday night, with five selections.
The SEC had eight players selected in the second round of the draft and five came from the national titlists: linebacker Reggie Ragland (41st overall, to Buffalo), running back Derrick Henry (45th, Tennessee), defensive linemen A’Shawn Robinson (46th, Detroit) and Jarran Reed (49th, Seattle) and cornerback Cyrus Jones (60th, New England).
Ragland, Reed and Robinson had been considered likely first-rounders. Instead, the only Tide player who went in Thursday night’s first round was center Ryan Kelly.
