BIRMINGHAM — University of Alabama softball player Haylie McCleney was honored as the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award Winner at the ASHOF Class of 2016 induction banquet on Saturday night. The post-graduate scholarship program was established to recognize outstanding college student-athletes around the state.
McCleney plans to use the ASHOF post-graduate scholarship to pursue a Master's Degree in exercise science, with a specific concentration in strength and conditioning and is interested in pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology. She is a three-time NFCA NFCA All-American, three-time All-SEC and three-time SEC All-Defensive Team member on the field.
