ATHENS, Ga. | The Alabama basketball team finally snapped out of a 3-point shooting slump against Georgia -- just in time to develop a severe case of bad rebounding.
The Bulldogs pounded Alabama on the backboards and pulled away with strong foul shooting down the stretch, handing the Crimson Tide a 70-63 loss at Stegeman Coliseum on Saturday. It was the fourth loss in five games for UA, which struggled down the stretch of the SEC season and finished 8-10 in the league.
Despite the 48-26 deficit on the backboards, including 19 offensive rebounds by the Bulldogs, Alabama had a chance in the second half.
