AUBURN, Ala. – More than half of the SEC has started spring practice, and former Alabama and Texas A&M coach Gene Stallings said he always handled spring practices the same way.
“I wanted to know … who is the first team and who is the second team and who are the backups. I would put good against good. That’s the only way you get better,” Stallings said Thursday afternoon during “The Drive” on ESPN 106.7 in Auburn. “I wanted to know when fall practice started which were the best 11 that I had offensively and who were the best 11 I had defensively.
