What looked bad in fact was just that. It appears the promising season of Florida State quarterback Deondre Francois is over after injuring his knee late in the 24-7 loss to Alabama.
It was a torn patella injury, the Tallahassee Democrat reported Sunday evening. It will require surgery, the paper reported.
The injury occurred when Alabama safety Ronnie Harrison tracked down Francois from behind on a third-down play after the game was decided. Francois immediately clutched his left knee and was taken off in an air cast on a cart.
"I believe it was a side adjust," FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said after the game.
