The Big 12 is bringing in another former Alabama player.
After Oklahoma got Jalen Hurts from the transfer portal for 2019, Texas Tech University has claimed wide receiver Chadarius Townsend.
He announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he is committed to the Red Raiders. Once a four-star in the 2017 signing class for the Crimson Tide, Townsend was an explosive athlete at Tanner (Ala.) High School. He recorded 5,054 total yards offensively with 70 touchdowns in his career.
The 6-foot, 194-pounder practiced at wide receiver, running back and defensive back for Alabama, but much of his action during games came on special teams.
