A member from Nick Saban’s coaching tree is returning home to his mentor.
Derek Dooley, 53, is reuniting with Saban at the University of Alabama.
According to a report from Football Scoop, Dooley will join the Crimson Tide’s coaching staff as a senior offensive analyst.
As a native Georgian, Dooley served as an assistant head coach, tight ends coach, running backs coach under Saban at Louisiana State University from 2000 to 2004. He earned a BCS National Championship ring on Saban’s staff in 2003. Dooley followed Saban to the National Football League in 2005 and 2006 with the Miami Dolphins.
