BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – One of the early true stars of the University of Alabama men’s basketball program, Jim Fulmer is among the eight individuals set to be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2016. Fulmer played for the Crimson Tide from 1956-58, including being part of the 1956 squad that went undefeated in Southeastern Conference play to win the conference’s regular season title.
Fulmer’s name can still be found throughout the Alabama men’s basketball record books. He holds the record for most free throws made (189) and attempted (263) in a season along with being the only Alabama men’s basketball player to make 17 free throws in two separate games.
