BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – An outstanding offensive tackle and part of the University of Alabama football team that won the 1999 Southeastern Conference Championship, Chris Samuels is among the eight individuals set to be inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2016.
Samuels was a four-year member of the Crimson Tide. He was a starting among the offensive line by the end of his freshman season and would go on to start 42 consecutive games, in which he never gave up a single sack.
The native of Mobile capped his career in tremendous fashion, not allowing a quarterback hurry once during the 1999 season while helping pave the way for Alabama running back Shaun Alexander.
