Former Alabama wide receiver Gehrig Dieter announced on Wednesday he will retire from the game of football. Dieter, 29, spent five seasons in the NFL all with the Kansas City Chiefs after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017.

Throughout his professional career, Dieter spent time between the active roster as well as the practice squad for the Chiefs. He appeared in a total of 10 games from 2018-20 where he caught two passes for 32 yards and recorded three tackles on special teams.
